Parenting Consultations and Coaching

Parenting is a challenging job probably the most difficult one you will ever undertake. It can also be the most fulfilling and joyful one, too. Occasionally, we may feel that we are not connecting as well as we could with our child. Perhaps the baby is fussy and you are feeling like you've tried everything. Maybe you are anticipating going back to work and want to have the transition go as smoothly as possible. Or you could be facing the stress of introducing a second child into a family, and want to set up a harmonious relationship between your children.

Even the most informed, conscientious parents sometimes need a little support, or some new ideas. This is why I came up with my consultation and coaching service. We can meet together, usually at your home, and develop a plan to improve your connection with your child, increase your "bag of tricks" as a parent, or work towards decreasing the stress in the family.

With my experience as a parent and as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I can assist you to set and reach goals related to your parenting and your relationship with your child. This service is highly individualized, and can be on a one-time, intermittent or ongoing basis. In my work with coaching clients, I use conventional counseling techniques, together with observations of you with your child, and suggestions of helpful books and articles. I may help parents get connected to other resources: lactation consultants, support groups, exercise or ongoing counseling for other issues.

If you need a little push, some fresh new ideas or just a sounding board in this exciting journey called parenting, consider working with me to get to where you want to be. We will begin with a phone conversation, at no charge, and then work together to develop a plan of what you want to accomplish, and how long you wish to work together. I believe that parenting can and should be one of the most fun, challenging experiences of your life. Let me help you get there.
